Our Stables
Ekuthuleni Livery is a smaller yard with a total of 9 spacious, comfortable loose boxes with deep bedding. The stable block includes a tack room and a shower/toilet facility. The post and rail holding paddocks are conveniently situated and included within the secure area which includes an electric fence/gate.
Nutrition
Each horse is fed concentrates, Epol, according to its individual need. There is always access to top quality hay, and fresh water.
Our Paddocks
The horses are turned out daily, and are able to relax, play and graze in the large post and rail paddocks. There is a sense of community amongst the horses as while they are in small groups, the other horses are within eyesight.
Our Level of Care
The experienced full time grooms are extremely attentive, building relationships with both the owners and each of the horses in their care under the watchful eye of the owner, Craig (who lives on the property). Each horse is checked twice a day; in the morning and in the evening. They are turned out into the post and rail paddocks on a daily basis.
There’s an understanding that each horse is different and they are treated accordingly (food, groom, paddock). The team is very attentive, nothing is ever rushed.
Where requested/ necessary, the team manages food supplements and medicine under the guidance of the owner or veterinarian.
Both Sibu and Joe have long service at Ekuthuleni and live on the property.
Our Facilities
Ekuthuleni Livery Yard has a lunging arena and a large exercise arena with poles, jumps etc and a grass dressage arena, both easily accessible. All of these facilities are well maintained by Nhlaka who works full-time on the farm.
Our Outrides
The surrounds of Ekuthuleni Livery Yard are such that while it is easily accessible (located on the Hilton College Road), riders have easy access to the nearby forest and surrounding country area.
Safety
The safety of the horses and humans is a high priority at Ekuthuleni. We value a relaxed and gentle atmosphere. The property is fully fenced, with electric gates, electric fence around livery block, and cameras in place.
Country Living
It’s hard to imagine Ekuthuleni Livery Yard, Hilton, can be so conveniently placed and yet feel so country; this manicured, well-managed property is in the beautiful surrounds of the KZN Midlands with the local wildlife visiting the farm on a regular basis (monkeys, warthogs). The yard is relaxed and tranquil with views over local agricultural farms and forests nearby. Those inclined can enjoy easily accessible outrides in the area.
Long Distance or Local
We understand that you are not always able to live close to your horse or be able to visit as often as you would like. At Ekuthuleni your horse will be in the care of an experienced team with full time grooms who build relationships with both the owners and each of the horses in their care under the watchful eye of the owner, Craig (who lives on the property).
Instructors Welcome
If you are looking to have a professional trainer to exercise your horse, or have lessons with an instructor, they will be most welcome at Ekuthuleni. There are a number of holding paddocks, a lunging arena and a large, well maintained arena including areas for dressage and jumping.

Ekuthuleni is just a couple of kms down the Hilton College Road. Its just 3.6km from the N3 interchange between Pietermaritzburg and Howick making it extremely accessible and so very convenient. Hilton Village with all the amenities with coffee shops and shopping centres near to hand as well as schools such as Hilton College, Laddsworth, St Annes and Cowan House.
